Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mar Ivanios Vidya Nagar, Nalanchira, celebrated Reading Day with a special programme promoting the joy of reading and literary appreciation.

The event was inaugurated by Ms. T. V. Anupama IAS, Special Secretary, LSGD who also released a book named “Moonlight” authored by Mstr. Johan D Christiano of class 10 as part of the celebration. Mr. John Kurian, Principal, introduced the book and its author. The gathering was felicitated by Rev. Fr. Dr. Koshy Issac Punnamoottil, Bursar, Mar Baselios College of Engineering & Coordinator of Mar Ivanios Vidyanagar, while Mr. Varun Hari, Circulation Manager, Mathrubhumi, Thiruvananthapuram, inaugurated Madhuram Malayalam, an initiative by Mathrubhoomi Daily to encourage Malayalam reading among students.

The programme began with a prayer song by the School Choir, Welcome speech by Mstr. Khayam Muhammed and concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Captain Ms. Akshara Ajesh. The celebration reinforced the importance of reading in shaping knowledgeable and responsible individuals
