Mrs. Leena Narayanan of the Physical Education Department, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya ICSE attended the NCC PRCN Course JW -110 from 06 March to 19 April 2023 at Officers Training Academy (OTA) – Gwalior. She is from the 1 (Kerala) Girls Battalion NCC under the Kerala and Lakshadweep NCC Directorate.

115 trainees from various directorates attended the training program. The training program consisted of both indoor and outdoor activities like Map Reading, Weapon Training, Air Force Station visit, Yoga, and intercompany competitions. Drill Training was given more importance during the course. History of Armed Forces and NCC as per the syllabus was also taught. To assess the trainees in a periodical manner, assignments were given and three written examinations were also conducted within the 45 days training period.

Major achievements during the training: The team led by Mrs. Leena Narayanan secured 2nd position in Throw Ball competition and First position in Tent Pitching. An Excellence Award for Planning and Organising NCC Camp (Exercise SHAKTI) was also secured by the team. She was also selected as Quarter Master during the Training period and was in charge providing administrative support to her superior officer.

The spectacular passing out parade was conducted on the 19^th of April, 2023. The parade was reviewed by Maj. Gen. Kavita Sahai, VSM, ADG, AFMS (HR). This is the first time in the history of OTA Gwalior that a lady officer is reviewing the passing out parade. The Pipping and Oath taking ceremonies followed the parade. Mrs. Leena Narayanan was promoted to the Third Officer rank after completing this course.
