Vaayanakkalari is an initiative by Malayala Manorama, in collaboration with various organizations to foster reading habits in children and enhance their language proficiency. As part of the programme in Sarvodaya school, students are provided with newspapers and books, reading workshops and activities are organized to encourage reading. The school-level inauguration of this programme was held on Monday 6th July 2026. The event was attended by Principal Mr. John Kurian, Vice Principal Mrs. Terin Joseph, Y’s men Mr Thomas Tharakan, the Lieutenant Regional Director of Y’smen International South West India Region Zone -2 , LRD Elect Adv. Gopalakrishnan Nair, Secretary Mr. Albert Alex, Treasurer Mr. David Thomas, Bulletin Editor Mr. Muhammed Ashraf, Y’s guy Mr. V.K. Hari and Minutes Coordinator  Mrs Suma Thomas Tharaken.
