80th Independence Day Celebrated at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya
Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Thiruvananthapuram, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2026 with patriotic fervour and a deep sense of national pride.
The celebrations commenced at 7.45 a.m. on the school ground with an impressive parade by the NCC, Scouts and Guides, reflecting discipline, unity and commitment to the nation.
The National Flag was hoisted by the Principal, Mr. John Kurian, followed by a respectful salute to the Tricolour and the singing of the National Anthem. The atmosphere resonated with patriotism as students and staff came together to commemorate the sacrifices of the countless men and women who contributed to India’s freedom.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the significance of Independence Day and encouraged students to uphold the values of freedom, unity, responsibility and service to the nation.
A patriotic song added to the spirit of the occasion, reminding everyone of the rich heritage and diversity that bind the country together.
The celebration concluded with renewed pride in the nation and a collective commitment to contribute towards a stronger, progressive and harmonious India.
