School Library
Nested on the top floor that overlooks the mountains ahead, our library is a breath of fresh air from the daily humdrums of life. The students are regularly taken to the library so that they can be exposed to a wide panorama of knowledge beyond their textbooks. The school library has a huge repertoire of more than 10,000 books, 32 scholarly journals, magazines, model question papers and so on. The Reference section keeps around 850 books on relevant topics including authorized encyclopedias and dictionaries.
Library Rules
- We have a well-equipped library. The students are regularly taken to the library so that they can be exposed to a wide panorama of knowledge beyond their textbooks. The school library has upto date collection of more than 10,000 books, 32 scholarly journals and magazines. The Reference Section has around 850 books on relevant topics including encyclopedias and dictionaries. The students can also refer to previous question papers.
- Proper decorum and etiquette should be maintained in the library.
- All the members of the staff and students are expected to make use of the school library regularly.
- Students can borrow only one book at a time and it can be retained for a week. The book can be renewed for one more week. The librarian has the authority to recall the book from the borrower at any time.
- It is the duty of the students to examine the book before borrowing. Damages if any, should be duly reported to the librarian.
- Books borrowed from the library should be kept neat. Refrain from marking, underlining or scribbling on the books that are borrowed.
- The person under whose name the library card is issued will be held responsible for all the books borrowed from thereon.
- A fine of Rs.1 per day will be charged for the late return of the books.
- Disciplinary action will be taken against the defaulter if the book is lost, damaged or defaced. In case of any dispute, the Principal’s decision will be final and binding.
- Reference books are not allowed to be taken out of the library. Other books are not permitted inside the Reference Section.
- All library books and cards should be returned by the end of February before the conclusion of the academic year. Clearance from the library is mandatory for obtaining the Transfer Certificate.
- A Junior Library functions, catering to the needs of the students in the Primary Section.
