As I pen these lines, I find myself standing at the crossroads of memory and destiny. The corridors of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya—once the nurturing ground of my own childhood—now welcome me again, this time as Principal. To return to the very school that shaped my earliest dreams is a privilege that fills my heart with gratitude and gentle pride.

Sarvodaya is in my roots, my story, and my spirit. My father, Prof. James Stewart, served as Principal here long before I stepped into these halls as a young girl. His commitment to education, his discipline tempered with compassion, and his unwavering belief in every child continue to guide me, like a quiet lamp glowing from the past.

Before returning home to Sarvodaya, my journey took me through the vibrant world of higher education, where I served as Vice-Principal of Mar Ivanios College. Working closely with young adults taught me the importance of understanding, patience, and the delicate balance between guidance and independence. Now, stepping into the tender universe of younger children at Sarvodaya, I am reminded that every age has its own poetry—its own rhythm of wonder, discovery, and growth. From the thoughtful teenager to the curious child, each learner carries a spark waiting to be kindled.

As a Professor of English, I have always believed in the magic of words. Words can light the way, soothe restless minds, and open doors to unexplored worlds. And so, to my dear children, I say:

You are stories still unfolding, verses still rising, dreams still blossoming.

May you always walk with courage in your steps and imagination in your hearts.

Sarvodaya Vidyalaya will continue to be a space where joy and learning walk hand in hand, where values are nurtured with love, and where every child is encouraged to find their own voice. Together, let us create an environment rich in empathy, curiosity, and hope.
